Pricey Sushi
The most I've ever spent on sushi was about five bills a few years ago when I took out a dear friend to Sushi Roku in Santa Monica to celebrate New Year's Eve. It was a fabulous dinner filled with seared toros and more fresh uni than any human should consume in a single night. Granted, the bill also included more than a few drinks and a generous tip, so the real damage for the sushi was closer to $300.
Well if such peasant sum just won't do for a high-roller like yourself, consider another sushi joint just 15 minutes down Santa Monica Boulevard that jetsetreport.com just named LA's most expensive restaurant. At just under $300 for a single omakase seating, your romantic dinner for two at Urusawa could easily set you back a grand once you include drinks and other extras including some potentially fatal blowfish (one of the few licensed vendors in the US).
Reserve a seat at this 2-Michelen star gem at gayot.com.
Btw, if you're looking for phenomenal sushi at more modest prices, check out Sakura, a hole-in-the-wall joint located in Culver City.

I love sushi, but these sushi joints are way out of my league.
Thanks for the info.
