Kogi BBQ

Update 2/13/09: If you think running one of the hottest culinary (mobile) destinations in LA is all glitz and glory, check out a typical day with the Kogi crew as reported by Serious Eats.

Everyone loves to hate on Los Angeles. The traffic, the smog, the rude people. To all the haters, I say: screw you. Living in San Diego for the last eight years after moving down from LA, I miss all of the culture and dining options that the City of Angels has to offer. Take for instance Kogi, a great dining concept we found recently. What is Kogi? It's a roving food truck that combines two of our favorite foods: Korean BBQ and street tacos. Founded by Mark Manguera who has worked at a number of five-star hotels, Kogi offers a number of scrumptious dishes like their signature Korean short rib tacos and tofu tacos. Kogi drops anchors at various spots throughout Los Angeles, frequently leading to hour-long waits. To find out where the Kogi truck will be next, go to kogibbq.com.
