Luxe of the Day: Porsche Sport Driving School

porsche sport driving school
One of the frustrations of having a high-performance car is the inability to drive the thing to it's fullest potential. Unless you're one of those moron street-racers that risk the life and limb of everyone else on the freeway, your only opportunity to drive the wheels off your car is on a race-track. If you're a Porsche fanatic like we are, the Porsche Sport Driving School is the perfect place to unleash your inner Andretti. Located at the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, the driving school is staffed with world-class instructors who have significant race experience on tracks including Indy, LeMans, and Daytona.

Each participant will be assigned a current model year 911 Carrera and will spend 20 percent of the time in the classroom learning proper driving techniques and the remaining 80 percent on the track, culminating in lapping sessions on the Grand Prix circuit. Courses range from $1795 for one-day course to $5295 for a three-day race licensing course. Go to porschedriving.com to learn more.

P.S. If you're wondering whether we've attended or plan on attending the driving school, the answer is no. Why? Two words: Birmingham, Alabama.
