Napa Truffle Festival
If you don’t get a chance to visit the Bay Area this month for some truffle goodness, perhaps you should try to head up to Napa Valley on December 10-12 for the Napa Truffle Festival. This epicurean’s dream event brings together six Michelin-starred chefs who will provide cooking demonstrations as well as showcase their talents during the truffle dinner on Saturday evening. In addition, some of the world’s leading truffle scientists – yes, this is a real profession – will provide their insights on the tasty fungus. The event will take place at the Westin Verasa Napa and a number of the local restaurants will be offering seasonal truffle menus during the festival weekend. Ticket prices range from $15 to $1,325 for the three-day Truffle Gourmand pass. Part of the proceeds will benefit The Hunger Project and Feeding America.
