Private Country Clubs Yell Fore!!!

private country clubs go bankrupt
When it comes to golf, I'm pretty much a hack. On a good day, I might shoot below the century mark. However, I do enjoy hitting the links with my buddies for a few hours of beers, cigars and a bit of golfing. As they say, a bad day on the golf course is better than any good day in the office. Well according the The Wall Street Journal, it appears that the bad days may be coming to your local country club as well. They report that a number of fairly new clubs, that not too long ago were charging $85,000-plus for a membership, are starting to shutter their doors. It appears the ranks of nuevo-riche doughbag mortgage brokers and investment bankers who are willing to throw down such exorbitant initiation fees have thinned considerably during the last couple of years. We're hoping Maxim or someone of their ilk would buy up one of these broke clubs out of bankruptcy and turn it into a less stuffy, sexier experience complete with bikini-clad golf-cart girls. Now THAT, we'd pay $85,000 for.
