Blackberry Storm

blackberry storm
Update 11/20: Check out the video review of the Storm below from the folks at gearlog.com.

There are lots of Blackberry haters out there. I'm not one of them. I have both a Palm Centro for personal shadiness and a Blackberry Curve that I use for work. While it's bulkier than many PDA's out there, I find it perfect for sending out scathing emails on the fly. Crew Member Tandori hates his "Crackberry" since it constantly reminds him of the...gasp...work he has to do once in a while to fund all his five-star vacations. The worst haters out there are all the Apple fanatics who swear by the iPhone's touchscreen design.

Well it looks like the fine folks at RIM have fired their first real shot in anger at the iPhone with their upcoming Blackberry Storm. Measuring 4.4 x 2.4 x 0.55 inches, the Storm will be about the same size as an iPhone and will be fully loaded with dual-mode CDMA and GSM, 3G capability, GPS, Bluetooth, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. The phone's showcase feature will be its 3.25 inch glass touchscreen display that will feature "Clickthrough" that lets users "distinctively feel the screen being pressed and released with a gentle click". That sounds like freaking genius to us.

The Storm is expected to be an exclusive offering of Verizon Wireless with a rumored price of $199 with a two-year agreement. Go to blackberry.com to read more.
