Luxe of the Day: World's Most Expensive Champagne
I didn't learn very much as an Econ major in college. In fact, I humbly submit that Economics is one of the most useless majors, along with Sociology and Geography. Honestly, Geography is a major??? The only thing that stuck with me after 5 years of Econ classes is the concept of marginal utility (English majors, click here for the definition). I would like someone to explain to me the marginal utility one gets from spending an additional $6000 on a bottle of Perrier-Jouet's 2000 Belle Epoque champagne, which is currently the most expensive bottle of champagne, compared to a pretty damn good bottle of Cristal.
Only 100 cases of this special 12-bottle set will be sold to some really rich folks world-wide. Each buyer will have an opportunity to visit Epernay in eastern France for a meeting with celler master Herve Deschamps, and will a add a special liquor to personalize the bottles. The company will also provide storage of the pricey bottles for up to 8 months.
If you have 50,000 euros laying around, you can inquire about purchasing a case for yourself at perrier-jouet.com. We expect G Luxe crew member Tandori to purchase a bottle when he finally sells his company.
