Our dear friends Linda and Steve are getting married this weekend and they STILL haven’t booked their honeymoon. To help out these lovebirds, we’ve been on the lookout for possible honeymoon destinations. While Linda is looking forward to something exotic and tropical on the other side of the globe, our not-a-big-fan-of-flying friend Steve is looking for something closer to home….maybe Vegas? (Linda would kill him, so that would be a NO on Vegas). One possibility is to split the difference and head to the newly opened St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in Puerto Rico. Instead of being stuck in planes and airports for over a day to get to a place like the Maldives, Puerto Rico is a doable 7.5 hours from SoCal. The St. Regis Bahia Beach is located 25 miles east of San Juan and is the latest edition to the luxurious St. Regis group of resorts. This property is situated on 483 acres of beachfront property and features 139 rooms with private terraces that overlook either the Atlantic Ocean or the mountains of the El Yungue National Forest.
If our newlyweds get tired of looking at the gorgeous views, they can pamper themselves at the Remede Spa or get their golf on at the Robert Trent Jones designed golf course. Of course lovers need to eat, and they can dine fabulous meals at Fern which is managed by celebrity chef Jean-Georges Veongerichten. Rates for the high-season start at $929 per night but it looks like they are currently offering a number of great specials.
