It’s happy days for us Porsche fans, especially those who appreciate the mid-engine Caymans (even though it’s not a 911 as the elitists would say). As expected, Porsche just unveiled the latest Cayman variant at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Porsche Cayman R is 121 lbs lighter than the Cayman S and has 10 more horsepower which means a 0-60 time of just 4.7 seconds.
Cosmetically, the Cayman R has new 19-inch wheels, subtle stripe package, contrasting color mirrors and black-accented headlight bezels. We’re not sure why Porsche decided to go with this hideous green color for the unveiling but we’re pretty sure the R will look outstanding in Carrera White or standard black. The price has yet to be released but expect it to be at least a few thousand more than the S-variant. Check out more pics and the promo video after the jump.
