Another Reason Not to Travel Blue Light Special Style

jason roe is attacked by ryanair
When web geek Jason Roe thought he had figured out a way to score free tickets on discount carrier Ryanair through a glitch on the company's web site, he posted his supposed findings on his blog site. Well it turns out that it wasn't a glitch, simply that the portly Roe had logged on to a different session before completing the transaction or some technical mumbo jumbo like that, and therefore no free tickets were to be had. This didn't prevent those feisty Ryanair employees from going all shock-and-awe on poor Roe:

"You're an idiot and a liar!! fact is! you've opened one session then another and requested a page meant for a different session, you are so stupid you dont even know how you did it!"

And check out this winner:

"Website is not perfect, Life is not perfect...If you would work in your pathetic life on a such big project in a such busy environment with so little resources, you would know that the most important is to have usual user behavior scenarios working rather than spending time on improbable and harmless things."

The best part was that Ryanair didn't even deny the mean-spirited comments came from its employees and even piled on insults of their own:

"Ryanair can confirm that a Ryanair staff member did engage in a blog discussion," said the airline's spokesman Stephen McNamara. "It is Ryanair policy not to waste time and energy in corresponding with idiot bloggers and Ryanair can confirm that it won't be happening again. Lunatic bloggers can have the blog sphere all to themselves as our people are far too busy driving down the cost of air travel."

And you thought the Grandmas of United were rude. Part of us appreciates the candor in Ryanair's response but we can't imagine their reaction would be good for business as major media outlets including CNN (and G Luxe of course) have picked up the story. But then again, discount travelers are like abused donkeys who don't mind getting ridiculed and treated like crap as long as they get their beloved cheap airfare.

We hope Ryanair employees will take the time to show their indignation on this post as well.
