Dream Job
How many of us have wished we could spend our days on a tropical beach, enjoying the sand and surf without having to worry about things like earning a living? Unless you're part of the Hilton clan, shorted the sub prime market in 2006, or Crew Member Tandori, this is probably not likely to happen. Well take heart dear readers cause we may have found the second best option. An Australian state is currently taking applications for a $105,000 a year job as an "island caretaker" for Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, where the duties include strolling the white sands, snorkeling the reef, taking care of "a few minor tasks" and reporting on the paradise existence via weekly blogs and photo and video updates. In addition to the salary, the lucky employee will get free airfare to the island and use of a three-bedroom beach home that comes equipped with a plunge pool and golf buggy.
If you think you're up for the job, go ahead and apply at islandreefjob.com by February 22. Just make sure you're a good swimmer, able to speak and write in English, and comfortable dealing with the media. Hell, I think I'll apply.
