Precious Marilyn

marilyn monroe photographs auction
While “normal” investments such as stocks and real estate still appear to be in the doldrums, alternative assets like photographs seem to be hanging on just fine. For example, Christie’s auction house just successfully auctioned off a collection of Marilyn Monroe photographs that were taken for Vogue Magazine during the year of her death. The 36 photos sold for $146,500 which was at the high end of the pre-auction $100,000 to $150,000 estimate. Unlike your stock portfolio, at least you’ll have something pretty to look at if the market value ever implodes.
