Ducati Monster 1100
Update 12/11/08: Looks like Mrs. Jolie-Pitt is also a fan of the 1100's. Well, at least her husband is. She just bought Brad his own Ducati 1100S Monster Titanium, which retails for around $12,000, for his birthday. What a great wife.
As a die-hard motorbike enthusiast (the guy has two Ducatis which are both track-ready), Crew member Drewsky was licking his chops last week when he saw the concept Ferrari Superbike. He will once again be at full-mast when he sees the new Monstor 1100 series by Ducati. The Monster series was first launched in the 90's and is distinguished by its naked bike style in which the engine and frame are both fully exposed.
The latest Monster features tweaks that both improve performance and aesthetics. The 1100 comes with a single-sided aluminum swingarm and a race oriented chassis. The 1100 S comes with Öhlins forks and progressive Öhlins rear shock absorber, as well as carbon fibre cam belt covers, and silencer guards. Its racing gold 5-spoke wheels harkens back to classic Ducati racing bikes.
Both bikes are powered by a two-valve 1100cc Desmodromic twin-cylinder engine that produces 95hp at 7500 rpm. Exact performance metrics are still TBD.
