Update 10/30: The SLS Beverly Hills is scheduled to open their doors this weekend. Travel & Leisure has found a grand opening special where you can book a room for $389 (reg. $449). The rate includes a $50 credit for dining or spa services, early check-in, 4pm late check-out, and triple Starpoints for Starwood members.
It looks like the trend of swanky boutique hotels still has plenty of legs as evidenced by the newest addition to LA's stable of chic destinations. SLS Beverly Hills is brought to you by night-life king himself Sam Nazarian and designed by Philippe Starke. This 297-room hotel will be located in the heart of Beverly Hills and features a roof-top pool area (looks too small in our humble opinion) with great views of the 90210 zip code, a dining and shopping area called the Bazaar, and for you health freaks seven "Lifestyle Suites" customized with Technogym's Kinesis personal equipment.
