With the US real estate and stock market in shambles, you're probably wondering where to park your hard earned cash. Why not invest in an emerging market. A really emerging market, like Liberia. Yes, we're talking about that war-torned nation that was started way back when by freed slaves. Think its a stupid idea? Well, BET founder and billionaire Robert Johnson doesn't think so as he has invested in an $8 million, 85 room four-star resort near the capital of Liberia. The beach front hotel is scheduled to open next March and will include all the normal resort amenities including a restaurant, tennis courts, a spa, health club, swimming pool, guards, infrared motion detectors and bulletproof glass (seriously).
If you're looking for a break from the Four Seasons and Palmillas, come visit Liberia. For between $150-$200 per night, you may even get a meet and greet with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
